Going Left or Going Right?

A drive around town would reveal many roadsigns for drivers, directing them how to move and what to do. Though they have the freedom to move about as they please, these signs serves as 'guides' on the road. In the same way that is how God gives us the bible as our set of guidelines for life. Lets consider the the story of Adam and Eve, remember in the garden God directed them not to eat of fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden (Genesis 2:16-17). When they went contrary to those directions they reaped the consequences of their actions (Genesis 3: 16-19). In the bible are many directions to shape our lives and to guide our every step but with our human understanding we tend to think God is just being 'strict'. As a loving Father he wants whats best for us. Going in the opposite directions comes with its consequences. Many scriptures give us examples of lifestyles we should not follow.. Galatians 5. We are not to be greedy, selfish, engage in gossip, follow the counsel of the wicked because God knows what it does to us but we are soo drawn by how 'beautiful' that life looks that we are drawn more into it than in God's direction. Which way would you go? In the direction of God and enjoy freedom and peace or the direction that looks 'good' to and reap the consequences??
