Love.

In my opinion, it is now the most overused word. Lack of the true understanding of love has caused it to lose its meaning. I'm pretty sure back in the day for some one to tell you they loved you meant it was a really big deal but what do we see today?? An easy pass to get into someone's pants right??  Yup!! Saying ' I love you' is as easy as saying 'i'm hungry' or 'i want to sleep'.

A critical look at this situation brings us to the main problem.... Have we taken God for granted?? Have we lost the true walk with God?? For the bible says that God is love right?  (1 John 4:8) and if we don't have God what do we have?? Nothing!!! Now its pretty 'normal' to do things that are contrary to what God wants and hence it seems 'okay' to twist things to suit us even though God clearly states in the bible its NOT okay.

 When we talk about love we talk about a multitude of things;
  • Love is the decision to treat others just as Jesus treated us. (credit: Joyce Meyer)
  • Love is God sending His son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for people he didn't know
  • Love is Jesus is walking in His Fathers will and dying for our sake
  • Love is a sacrifice of self
  • Love is going out of our way for someone even though we are aware there isn't a reward at hand
And the list goes on and on and on... The Apostle Paul makes it very clear in 1 Corinthians 13 the importance of love (AGAPE love not the erors or that mambo jambo stuff we refer to these days). My prayer is that we all (myself included) will come to the true understanding of God's love, walk in it and share it with others.
Amen.
