It truly pays to wait.

I have come to realize that most young people are just going into relationships just to pass the time and avoid the loneliness that singleness brings. True, we look around and we see people together and we may tend to feel lonely but do we know what they are going through? They portray the ‘happy faces’ on the outside and we think they are but do we really know what is going on?

In our overzealousness to start a relationship we always end up with the wrong person. Instead of trusting God and waiting on the right person we tend to take matters into our own hands and think we know what’s best for us because we don't want to feel left out.

What if you had waited a minute, an hour, a day or even a year longer? God would definitely send someone who is right for you with but nowadays we tend to prefer settling to waiting. Settling with who comes along, settling with their bad attitudes and the way they mistreat us because we are scared of being alone. Settling is wrong because would miss out on the 'real deal' should it come along.

Why not fill that void with God? Spend the ‘lonely times’ getting to know Him and His will and His desires. Get to know His promises for you and walk in those promises and trust me ‘not just any man or woman’ would come after you but someone God knows is right for you. Wait on the Lord.

I pray for patience, strength and endurance for all who are going through this 'phase' and when the time is right God would definitely send the right person. Trust Him on that!!

And keep this in mind as you wait

Jeremiah 29:11-13 reads:
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
