The story in Genesis Chapter 22 talks about how Abraham was tested by God by asking him to sacrifice his ONLY son. As you read on, u don't come across any form of hesitation on the part of Abraham. He set out the next day believing God would work out a miracle as when his son, Isaac, asked where the lamb was for the burnt offering he responded "God Himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering". He went ahead to carry out His task and then just when he was about to slay Isaac the Angel of the Lord called out to him and told Him he would be blessed because of his obedience and willingness to give the Lord his best (which was Isaac in this case) and he and his descendants will blessed and his descendants will be as many as the stars are in the sky and sands on the seashore.
Take a moment and ponder over that passage carefully, how many of us will be willing to give God our best even though it may sound impossible? How many of us actually obey God wholeheartedly no matter how hard the circumstances may seem?? How many of us actually TRUST AND BELIEVE God in ALL circumstances?? i think we should take a cue from Abraham and look at how he demonstrated all these in this passage (If God asked you to sacrifice your ONLY child would you even do it?? I'm pretty sure we would want to come out with soo many excuses just to avoid it) We should learn to give God our best because we may not know His reasons but then i know for a fact that the benefits are much greater and better than we could ever imagine.
God would never ask you to do something He knows you cannot do. Its about time you n I started giving Him our best and trusting in Him no matter how hard it may seem. God did it by sending His ONLY son Jesus Christ soo why can't you? There is nothing God would require more from us than to be obedient unto Him and trust in Him.
